I commute so I do quite a bit of walking and after purchasing a second bag identical to this I though I somehow broke the zippers on the first one.
Three weeks later the second bag does the exact same thing, the zipper rips. I asked my colleague if he had any issues with his because he purchased the same bag and to no surprise he had the same problem and had to replaced his bag due to the zipper.
The rest of the bag has good construction but have really cheap zippers, the cheaper bags have heavy duty zipper and hold much better.

Coming from a high school student, this is the best backpack I've ever owned, and it has held up so well compared to other backpacks that I felt compelled to take the time to write this review. I carry 5 binders and 4 thick textbooks to school everyday (along with a TI-84 calculator and a few other miscellaneous items), a total weight of 40+ pounds. Last school year I had a similar if not the same load in terms of weight, and the backpack I first bought began tearing within the first week, eventually becoming completely destroyed and useless by the end of the first semester. As a result, I had to buy another backpack (another $70+, whoop-de-do), which was also decimated within a semester. This backpack, however, has not torn or ripped, nor has it shown any signs of wear, even after 5 weeks of extreme use. I have always admired the Swiss Army brand, but this backpack has really increased my respect for Swiss Army and their ability to make durable, long lasting products. If you are like me and need a backpack that will consistently be able to carry 40 to 50 pounds of weight/4 textbooks and 5 binders for an entire school year, look no further. Despite a $100 price tag, I'd rather pay $100 once for a backpack that will last even after the school year is over than pay $70 twice for two backpacks, both of which would barely survive the school year.

This back pack is really sharp looking and has tons of nice features. My teenager had his last SwissGear back pack for 5 years and it took daily abuse loaded with approximately 20-25 pounds daily. It held up great. He needed something a little bigger so we found this style and he loves it.

So much padding that it is heavy and a bit unwieldy. It also makes it so there isn't as much space as you would hope for. It does fall down in spite of its claims. However, it is still a better product than most of the competition.
